The Numbers
On July 1st, our team of 14 active reps drove 12,240 dials across fintech and insurtech targets. That volume connected us with 831 prospects for a 6.8% connect rate, which tracks with our historical benchmarks for quality ICP lists. Our reps spent 934 minutes in active conversation, averaging just over 66 seconds per connection.
Where We Connect
Breaking down our disposition data, the story gets more granular. We logged 198 calls requiring follow-up, 101 intro rejections, 82 bad phone numbers, 80 prospects needing no further outreach, and 27 Do Not Call list entries. That Follow Up Required bucket is where our pipeline lives. Bad numbers and rejections together account for about 22% of connects, which suggests either list decay or a need to refine our targeting filters.
The Conversion Path
Of our 831 connections, 312 qualified as ICP conversations running 60 seconds or longer. This 37.5% ICP rate shows we’re reaching the right buyers. From that ICP pool, we booked 21 meetings, translating to a 6.7% ICP-to-booking conversion rate. We also landed 200 interested prospects marked for follow-up, which represents future pipeline leverage.
Our booked meetings represent the true ROI of this activity. Twenty-one meetings from one day of dialing is solid execution, but the real metric is how many of those convert to opportunities downstream.
What This Means
These numbers tell us three things. First, our connect rate is healthy and suggests list quality is holding. Second, our ICP conversation rate indicates we’ve built a repeatable filter for identifying genuine prospects. Third, our follow-up pool of 200 interested leads is more valuable than the 21 immediate bookings. Many sales orgs mistake same-day bookings for success, but we’re building a multi-touch pipeline where follow-up conversations often close higher-value deals.
The bad phone number rate (82 calls) is a flag worth monitoring. If this climbs above 7-8% of total connects, it signals list degradation and demands either a vendor swap or tighter validation before dialing.
On days like this, we’re reminded that volume, quality, and conversion are three separate metrics that each deserve attention. 12,240 dials only matter if they reach ICP buyers. 312 ICP conversations only matter if some convert. And 21 meetings are only valuable if reps show up prepared and close. The discipline is in running all three at once.
